Concept to Completed Sweater

Description: You have a vision and maybe you have the yarn, but how do you take from concept to a completed sweater? This class walks the students through the steps from the beginning with drawing a basic schematic, developing an appropriate swatch and taking measurements (or using industry "standards") to the finale with drafting a pattern, checking the numbers and knitting up your dream sweater. If the numbers make you nervous, fear not, all instruction is provided with the math-phobic in mind. The process is just a matter of working through the steps all designers use to take their vision and make it a reality.
Supplies: Pencil, calculator, measuring tape, homework swatches for "dream" sweater, 1 oz of yarn and needles used in swatch and yarn label.
Homework: Create two identical 6" x 6" swatches in the yarn and stitch pattern of your choice for your sweater. Launder one swatch in the method you intend to launder the sweater.
Duration: 3 hours per session, 5 sessions
