Different Ways to Entrelac
Over the past year, much of my time has been focused on entrelac as I work on the projects associated with my book. And because the
book is designed to be a learning tool (that
is the teacher in my coming out), I continue
to think about how to invite knitters to join
my passion for this particular technique.
I have also be looking at entrelac in ways that have rarely, if ever, been considered before.
Entrelac Knit-a-long
Although squares are not the most interesting projects in the world of knitting, make them out of wool, felt them and they become very practical trivets or hot pads. Join them together and they can become an afghan. Honestly, the possibilities are endless.
In this knit-a-long (KAL) we will be making squares of entrelac in two colors, but every lesson will result in a different graphic pattern. Sometimes this is accomplished through the placement of the colors and sometimes it is done within the creation of the units. As with all Knitability KALs, the Entrelac KAL will be educational in nature starting at the basics and building to more complex techniques. Whether you have never done entrelac before, but are interested in learning or have already become addicted and just want to dig deeper into the technique, you are WELCOMED!
There will be 14 squares provided throughout the course of the KAL. I have given them titles, but pictures will not be posted until each lesson is delivered. The lessons are:

- Lessons sent via e-mail in a PDF format which can be printed by the participant on standard 8.5" x 11" paper and folded into the booklet.
- The same as above, but an appropriate sized binder and sheet protectors will be sent to the participant to be used for storage of all the materials.
- Each lesson, along with the sheet protectors and binder will be sent US Postal Service.
The first 5 participants to sign up along with 5 randomly drawn participants will each receive a FREE autographed copy of my upcoming entrelac book as soon as it is available. All participants will be invited to join a private Yahoo Group for ongoing discussion, questions and answers. Ravelry members will be encouraged to join our Ravelry group.
